A tradition for years
Lonna made a Texas sheet cake every year my whole life growing up. We have continued the tradition because it was so special to me. It's important to sing to Jesus for his birthday.
When putting the candles on the cake, we were just about to sing and Riley said, "um mom, why did u put that many candles on? I mean, did u just guess how old he was?"
She cracks me up! ;) love that girl!

Rileys book shelf and table
Eric made Riley a book shelf for christmas. I painted it a neat olive green color, and also re-painted her little table the same green. Her room is coming along! I am going to start a new quilt for her along with shams and window coverings. Then when we do find that house, it'll all be set for her new room! No sense on waiting right?! ;)

New traditions
We worked around the house all day. It was awesome! We made a bookshelf for Riley and we painted that, and we also painted her little table to match. Then drove through taco bell for a quick bite to eat before heading to church. We dressed up and went to Christmas eve service at church, then went to the grocery store.... Came home and made homemade lasagna, along with salad, bread and corn. Oh, and of course the Texas sheet cake, a tradition in my family growing up.... Then we All for our pjs on, sat down at the tv with our dinner and watched the polar express. It was so relaxing. I had such a rough day in my thoughts. So sad thinking about the dynamics in my family back home. A nice relaxing night eating yummy food which watching a movie in our pjs was a great thing for my heart.
And for the record, like the little boy learned, u must believe. I believe in miracles. This Christmas I will believe no less. Lord grant mercy. Bring peace. I love u Jesus. Amen.

Christmas eve morning
We had friends bring us over cinnamon rolls for us to have in the morning! Such a nice treat from some really great friends! Eric set the table and made the rest of the breakfast and called us all in for breakfast. Such an amazing dad/husband. We enjoyed a nice breakfast and talked about things we have been blessed with over the last year. Eric even set a spot at the table for Jesus. He spoke about always inviting him into our home and at our table.... Such sweet times with my family.

Ornaments
Every year since the girls were born papa has cut out an ornament on his bandsaw and nana paints them. Here are this years.... A Santa moon and a stocking. They love getting ornaments from both set of grandparents every year. They have quite a collection now which is neat since they get their own tree each year now! It's perfect! They have theirs on their tree and we have. Family tree. It's really neat!
From nana and papa
Nana and papa sent the girls an old fashion sled! It's so cool! Girls are excited! Nana also sewed dresses for the girls. They fit great and girls are excited to get all fancied up! Thanks nana and papa.
