Our bedroom makeover

Scrapped the ceilings of that awful popcorn texture. Painted and rearranged it!

Goodsell family reunion

My uncle jan, aunt Mayumi and Kai and Koe are here for thanksgiving this year. My mom is coming on thanksgiving. It will be an awesome time having them all for thanksgiving.... Wish my sister was coming too...... :(

1st major snow fall this year

We've had a few flurries but nothing to shovel yet until today..... The plow truck is coming by, and there are several inches of snow and more falling as I type this..... Beautiful day and a great way to bring in the thanksgiving week. Warm fire in the fireplace and preparing for our huge thanksgiving dinner we will be having at our house this year.

Last week.....

The before photo of our room! last weekend we began doing our room..... 2 and a half years later we are finally painting and scraping the popcorn off the ceilings..... Here is the before photo with the photos during the project :)

Storm!

Crazy storm! Snow is coming...... The cold has arrived! Our friends jerry and Dani brought over A small generator to use. Eric spent most of the evening getting it hooked up. We had heat for about 3 hours and it popped! Hoping to have normal power today or tomorrow otherwise hoping Eric can troubleshoot it and fix it for tonight..... Good news is the generator is powering our phones, our bedroom light, and our sewer pump! So I get to wash the dishes after 4 days of not washing any of them!!!! And our kitchen light works..... That's all that works but let me tell you what an amazing thing it is to not pee outside or drive to the store to do so!!!!! And use our drains to wash our hands.... And wash dishes..... We don't have hot water but we don't care! It's water and we are able to function a bit!!!!! So thankful! And will really be thankful if the heat gets figured out..... Hoping we didn't mess things up with using the generator. Eric says it's a fuse, simple fix but he's back to work and can't fix it till later..... Hoping that's all it is!!!! And still praying and hoping today the power lines are fixed!

Storm- historic mess

We had the biggest storm in history roll through a few days ago. We begin day 4 today of no power! We have 4 power lines down just within 2 miles of our home. It's a nightmare. We lost 4 trees. 3 in the back and Our tamarack on the side. I've never experienced anything like this...... Praying we get power soon. It's been very scary and very hard living without power...... Our sewer is pumped out of our house because we are below street level so even going to the bathroom is impossible! It's been exhausting and hard...... We've gone to get food to eat and used the restrooms while there..... We've gone to erics parents to shower one of the days..... I did laundry at their house yesterday..... Really hoping we get power soon. Most of dalton got power after about 10 hours and then another 100,000 of us or so have remained without power. Schools shut down. Stores shut down. It's been wild. Praying today is the day for power restoration!!!! I'd like to use the restroom and have a bath. And a glass of wine. A very large glass. And heat. Heat would be nice. We've gone through a huge amount of our firewood for our fireplace. but hey, so thankful for a fireplace! So many things to give thanks for! Our home is safe and cleaned up from the mess. We are still smiling, we have instant coffee, hey at least it's coffee.... Our cooktop is gas, so that's been a blessing to have switched that to gas last summer. So much thankfulness...... Just ready to give thanks for power and heat and all the rest of that good stuff! Thinking of Ethiopia, this is normal life for them...... Little to no electricity, little to no water, not many warm clothes, little to no food...... Such poor conditions..... So many places through out the world aren't living as fortunate as we are in the US...... Perspective is everything. May we look back on this on the days to come and never take for granted the things we are blessed with that help make life comfortable and lovely.

Seizures

Last month Eric took Caelan to get her 7th grade immunizations and bammm! Full seizure in the doctors office. Photos below of the aftermath.

Tonight, Riley ran upstairs in complete and utter panic: caelans not ok! She's on her back. We ran down and she was convulsing and having a seizure. Riley said she was on the brown leather chair watching Riley do the Wii and she just ended up on the floor. We are unsure if she fell or tripped or what.... She has rug burns on her arms and chin. Real bad. And she says her arms are totally numb from the elbow down. Makes me think she started the seizure and it brought her off the chair otherwise it seems like she would have caught herself if she was totally coherent and fell for whatever reason...... So many mysteries. This was the first seizure where she didn't present a headache first. And no headache following. Not sure if she fell and panicked which sent her into a complete hysteria. She was whaling and crying in total hysteria. So hard to explain. Such a unique seizure this time. Trying to document each one so we can have more info for specialists and doctors..... Prayers appreciated.

First snow!

First snow of the season!

Projects!

Yay! After a year and a half we finally got the island finished! The doors turned out great! Eric built the island, and I wanted doors on the lower cabinets to protect the dishes from our feet kicking them when sitting at the island. So happy with how it all turned out. One more project done! Yipppeee! And I was able to organize all of my fiesta dishes as well.... Pulling out the fall and winter colors and tucking back the spring and summer colors.... 45 place settings in all! Wowzers! 25 years of collecting fiesta will do that! And it's my favorite way to add fun and color to the kitchen!

Paw patrol!

Oh wow! What an adventure! Hanging at Ranells this morning and I spot a puppy, then spot 2 puppies. Those 2 lead me to a 3rd puppy..... Then we search and search for the owners...... Long story short, then we end up with 7 puppies. In the back of my Subaru. Be still my heart. Always an adventure with you Ranell, and I love every single one of them. Sweetest puppies. Such a crazy morning!
