meet lola.

a little story with a happy ending.

there once was an old lady who visited a grocery store.
and at that grocery store she found a dog wandering outside.
she took the dog home and began calling shelters to help the dog 'get home'.
with no such luck, the old lady, who's name is mary kit, kept the dog...
mary kit loved on this dog, and found out the dog was about to have puppies.
mary kit, a loving old lady, kept the puppies too.
mary kit helped love and nurture the mama and her pups until it was time to find the pups a home...
in finding the pups homes she too found a home for the mama...
we adopted one of those pups through our local shelter that mary kit had contacted in finding homes for the pups.

what a happy ending.
a little old lady saved a dog, and in saving the dog she helped those pups.
and in helping those pups we were able to adopt a very happy, healthy little pup that had the privilege of staying OUT of the shelter and in a loving home until they had a home to go to.
we are so lucky to have lola.
our newest member... we got her a little over a week ago.... she is now 11 weeks old.... just a little pup.
she is a norfolk terrier.

pictures of what she'll most likely look a little bit like... :) when she is all grown up....

adoption....

this is the most beautiful thing ever...

meet becky and nick. becky is a friend from biola.... on a side note, she is also an amazing photographer and took all of the photos of eric the girls and i along with my parents and sister this last june.... she is amazing!!!!
anyhow, they adopted a little bundle of joy from rwanda. he is so adorable. i could just squeeze his cheeks.
anyhow, they have a beautiful story through their adoption journey....
here is the video she posted on their blog.... but i want to share it with you. it made me tear up and i had goosebumps running down my arms and back.
adoption is a beautiful thing. i know there are some great success stories out there. and i am also aware of some horror stories out there. but for the most part, what a beautiful thing that people decide to share all the love in their hearts for a baby or child they bring into their home to call their own.
so beautiful.

wow~
what an amazing journey....
as a side note, in the whole topic of adoption....
eric and i have looked into adopting for a little over five years now....
requesting info from agencies, asking friends about their experiences... we've done a lot of 'homework'.... but there is still so much more to do.

we know that the timing still just isn't right just yet for us to be pursuing this....
but we wait. and we pray. pray lots for our hearts and minds to be prepared.... our family to be ready for it.... praying for Gods direction. for his guidance in this...

if it is meant to be, that we would find the right agency, social worker, etc. for the pieces to line up.... for clairty on international versus domestic.... but for now, we are just simply praying. praying about the situation as a whole. seeking God in why our heartstrings are being so tugged by this idea, and have been for so many years... wondering if it is more than heart strings and that maybe it is resting on our hearts and minds constantly for other reasons, in that we should be pursuing this...

also, praying for strength to endure it all. financial wisdom. there are just soooo many pieces to it all.

praying.

so that one day.... one day, a little boy or girl can come home with us. and we can give them the love we have to give.
and to show them Jesus, and his sacrificial love for all of us.

one day.

.... for now, preparing our hearts.

and hoping you will pray along with us.... as we ponder, research, and explore more on adopting... we'll see what God has in store.

praying for His direction in this.... because it needs to be of Him, and His will....

but, i just know there is a child out there.
my heart feels it.
my mind never stops wondering.
<3

but for now, we pray. we prepare our hearts. and we prepare our lives. for what ever the future may hold.

new years eve party at a friends! DECEMBER 31 2009

we went to our friends house for new years! nate and annies.
they have three kids.... our kids love playing with their kids. and we love hanging out with this family. the are so amazing.... we are so blessed by them!!!

we did the good ol' famous murder mystery dinner party. a tradition that begun for eric and i the new years eve we were engaged.... and have done them most years since.
eric and i were the only ones that had done a party like this so we got to show them how it all works.... we played it low key, no one dressed their parts really.... just kinda low key this time.... although eric dressed up! and annie did as well and my outfit was so-so.... it was more for the fun of the ga
me since it was snowing outside and we all had snowy snowy conditions all day, and i dug this game out of the closet that we bought years ago, and the theme was 'murder on the grill' which called for summertime costumes.... but we made the best of it! :)
annies cousin sara and her husband josha and their kids came over too... and a guy names jason, from our small group came too which was awesome! so, once all the kids went to bed we began the game! whew! a late start! but we made it work!!! :)
such fun people to be with!

can't wait to try it again with them- it should be awesome now that everyone knows how it works!

annie is an amazing cook! she had such yummie things to munch on!!!

(note: ERIC DOES NOT WEAR HIS HAIR LIKE THIS, THIS IS PART OF THE COSTUME!!! JUST WANNA MAKE SURE.... I KNOW WE LIVE IN IDAHO NOW, BUT WE ARE NOT SPORTING WACKY HAIR DO'S I PROMISE.... :) )
