february 11 2010 .... for valentine's day

...in the fall Aunt Vicki and Uncle Chris Wright came and visited us and the Klossner's.... well, when they did they brought gifts for each of the girls, so sweet! well, part of the gift was a few of the littlest pet shops... and my mom bought the girls a nintendo DS game that was littlest pet shops....

and so it began.... and boy, w
as it adorable!

the girls both love littlest
pet shops. something caelan has liked for awhile now and something riley is beginning to gain interest in! we are grateful since we have endured the "cars" craze with riley for 4.5 years now and shes liked nothing but cars, so we are thrilled she is moving on to other things, although she still loves loves loves her cars.... :)

for valentines day i bought each of the girls a new set of littlest pet shops. i gave it to them early since their party for schools made it seem like valentines day already!

they were so tickled. and nothing makes me more happy then seeing them get happy over a little thing such as littlest pet shops. :)

my father-in-law and mother-in-law gave the girls a doll house for christmas and the girls use the littlest pet shops for the doll house and it has become quite the craze around here for friends and my girls alike to play with! such a neat thing to have!

and ya-ya bought one of the littlest pet shop houses for christmas that fits right inside the big doll house!!! so cool!

thanks nana and papa! and ya-ya!

riley and lola.

check out that outfit! i was cleaning and peered out the window into the backyard and saw riley and lola.... running around the yard.

riley had on a dora nightgown, rain boots and a visor. stylish don't ya say! :)

riley loves lola.

they have become fast friends!!!

lola adores riley, i think riley got her wish in having a dog that was 'hers' cause lola sure does love her riley.

lola lets riley do just about anything to her... she rocks her like a baby and everything. it is hilarious.

not just any song.

caelan is in a program at school in her classroom that is called, "Fantastic Readers."
every week she completes a chapter book and does a project. this last week her project was writing a song based on her chapter book and she completed one of the series in the "magic tree house"

she choose to write about the dinosaurs in the book and sing a song in her classroom in front of all of the students...

we took a video of her singing her song. that she wrote.
here is a preview.

there are a few pauses in the video but be patient, it will all upload correctly when you keep watching it.... its 2 minutes long.

here are the words to the song typed up:

Caelan Brewer

The Magic Treehouse: A Song

Chorus:
Annie and Jack
Annie and Jack
They went in a magic treehouse
It spun them around
They landed on the ground
They saw dinosaurs

Verse 1:
Hey Mister Pteranadon
Where have my parents gone?
I’m looking around
But I can’t see
Where, oh where can they be?

How high can you fly?
I want to touch the sky.

Verse 2:
Hey Mister Triceratops
Get me back, or I might POP!
Careful with
Your three horns
Or you will make me sore!

I hope you eat plants.
If not, can you dance?

Verse 3:
Hey Duck-Billed Dinosaur
Can you help us some more?
I wanna go home
As quick as can be
I like you. Do you like me?

continued inspiration.

i continue to be touched... i continue to have my heart embraced.... i continue to be in awe of God's hand in the lives of others... and in our life.
my friend becky and her husband nick continue to amaze me. their story is inspiring. and i continue to pray.
praying lots, for my heart is deeply touched, and not just the surface, but every inch of our beings are being impacted.

watch this video. i was so moved. shaken none the less. heart pounding.

please feel free to read their story. they are also on our blog list to the left.... fisher family...
http://fisherbloggers.blogspot.com/

part of her post read:

I don't want to sound like I'm on a soap box, but I want to share a little about my heart for adoption. Soooo many people have been touched by Judah's story. I'm certain that some of those moved by it, want to move into action, but won't, possibly because or fear and other valid reasons. Fear of not having enough money to fund it, fear of blending family, fear of not having 'enough' room in the house, fear of public opinion, fear of rejection of the child, fear of not being able to handle another child, etc. In my mind these are all valid concerns. But in our experience (and that of many others) those concerns though real, were wiped away by our sweet little boy. It's only been a day and a half of 3 kids and it's tough already. I know there will be many more challenges ahead. We're really doing it and we love it! (Okay we may not love it at 3 am, but overall we LOVE it!) When we first started out this journey we were convicted by the charge in James 1:27: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." We personally felt convicted to move forward in adoption.

Can I ask a tough question? What are you doing with this charge in James? Am I saying you should adopt? No, but I am saying God's word tells us to look after orphans and widows. If God is impressing on your heart adoption, can I encourage you to look into what that means for your family? If you don't feel led to adopt, you can financially support another adoptive family. Trust me, there is not shortage of need and I'd be happy to point you in the right direction. Have you prayed about how God can use you to make a difference in the life of an orphan? Okay okay, enough. Basta. No mas. I'll end by encouraging you to pray about what God would do in your heart towards orphans and tell you that while everyone says, "you've blessed Judah's life so much!", I can safely say, "Actually, we're the ones who are blessed!".

Enjoy this video below and please, from the heart of a mother, consider what God might do in and through you for the orphan.

perspective.

it is all a matter of perspective.

caelan had a school writing assignment which included filling out this form and doing a project to go along with it....

she told me she wanted me to look at it when she was all done.

i read it and tears filled the pockets of my eyes.

a lesson from a 6 and a half year old is what it ended up being. this wasn't merely an assignment for her to turn in but a lesson she would go on to teach others about....

when it all boils down to it the child's mind and heart sees whats really there. none of the superficial stuff that we all tend to peer our eyes on when we are older....

when i saw the assignment, i began racing through my thoughts wondering what her answers would be for the assignment.... i began to think of things like, a big house, a big yard, we have a of nice things.... etc. but what i saw was her heart. i saw what mattered most.... having a bed to sleep in, a table to eat at, and a family TO LOVE.... the fact that she wrote a family TO love.... it blew me away....

i began to think of the people in Haiti.... what those people would give to have a table to eat at, a a bed to sleep in..... shoot, a family TO love, since a lot of them are missing their family or are without one.... it hit me hard. we are so fortunate. we aren't suffering in tragedy.... our country has its problems but we are not facing problems that other countries face today...

life is not about 'stuff'... it doesn't matter the car you drive, the city in which you live or how many square feet your home is.... it doesn't matter the clothes you wear or the restaurants you eat out at....

what matters is that you have a family to love.
a roof over your head.
food on the table.
that's what makes a home special.
