82 degrees
Enjoying the sunshine. Enjoying the 82 degrees it has been all week. I am thankful for so very many things. It is a beautiful day out here. I sit and listen to the calm winds carry the pine needles off the trees, which signifies the turning of a season. It is fall. My fall decor is still not up, and i probably won't end up getting it up. But that is ok. I am sitting. Listening to music. Praise music. Enjoying how simple life feels here. How calm and how still. How beautiful the trees are. Just resting. Finding rest in this home. Learning to rest is such a beautiful thing. Sigh.

riley
We are driving down the main hwy and we have all the windows down in the truck and Riley proceeds to shout out the window at the top of her lungs,
"we're from Hollywood people!!!"
wow, quite a character! We have our hands full!

praise report!
Shriners for the second set of casting....
yesterday we were at urgent care getting the casts removed due to the rocks inside....
Caelan was ALREADY scheduled to get the pink casts off and the 2nd set on today..... they were going to remove the pink ones and stretch her heel cord more, and then set her feet in casts again for 3 weeks.... then we would check her heel cord again and proceed with surgery to lengthen the tendon, which would in turn damage the muscles in her legs permanently but we needed to lengthen the tendon to help her growth and development.... they said she had an underdeveloped tendon..... and the casting would be therapy then the surgery would correct it....
well, we learned today that God did a miracle in our little Caelan....
she doesn't have to have surgery, in fact, the heel cord is totally corrected with the one set of casting.... they don't think anything needs correcting with the tendon now!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but, she walked down the hall ON HER TOES again, so the doc said, "it's up to you mom, do you wanna try and work with her to walk flat or we can re-casts her for 3 weeks and shift her heel cord to a 20 degree stretch and this would guarantee she wouldn't walk on her toes again"
i said cast her. i didn't think anything would keep her off her toes and that's what landed us here in the first place.... so he re-casted her and she will have this set on for 3 weeks and then be done with all this!
praise Jesus that he did great and mighty things....
ahhh. so blessed. so fortunate.

thrirty some rocks
Thirty some rocks later wedged up inside her casts.... Causing cuts, scrapes and bruising.... The doc at urgent care took both casts off...... Poor thing. What a day. Getting the casts off was hard! It gets really hot inside the casts and she was screaming!!!! Riley hated the sound and began to flip out so Eric had to take Riley out of the room.... Ugh. Just another day.....

cars. and conversations with a child.
we were driving in the car and caelan is a child of a million questions a day. from the time she awakes to the time she goes to bed, she is full of questions...
tonight's question was:
caelan: "mom, if you could drive any car what would it be...?"
meg: "ummmmm"
caelan: "mom, just tell me, just pick a car"
meg: "well caelan, i really wish i was driving a ford flex to be honest.... i like those a lot. but i havent driven in one but, i am sure it is pretty cool."
caelan: "what is that???????????????" (with sheer disappointment in her voice)
meg: " i just like it"
caelan: "why on earth would you choose that???? i would pick a Ferrari."
who's child is she anyways. yeah. she is her daddy's daughter. :) LOL

and for the record, i do like the flex and my position still stands. although, yes, i have never driven one and don't know a lot about them.... they look great and its a great looking car for a mom to tote kids around. :) now you see where my priorities lay. yep. my kids. and this family hauling around town. :)
a Ferrari only holds two. :)
but i am also very very happy in my subaru outback!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
don't want to sound selfish and greedy.... we can all dream and wish right? :)

lucy + beaver
Lucy is all tuckered out. And she's really taking a liking to Rileys beaver friend. I've caught her with him quite a bit lately. Maybe Rileys moved passed it all and allowed Lucy to enjoy him for a while.
{ life }
where o' where do i begin.....
well, i gave riley a haircut today, to fix the haircut she gave to herself. yeah. its not so bad now, but she added bangs in the back of her head. luckily, i am getting really good at blending, and layering hair; i got extra practice today. yesterday while in the drive thru she shouted out the window of the car to the drive thru guy, "hey, i want you to be my boyfriend".... yeah she is a handful. she is so random and always has me shaking my head wondering where does she come up with this stuff, and shouts it out of no where. whew. yikes. *sigh*
caelan is in week 2 of these casts. oh, me, oh my. what a journey this has been, not a very exciting one, not that any of us thought it would be..... but geez! she thumps around the house like a herd of elephants. it is so loud, she has managed to step on all of our toes fifty times, maybe more. and bathing her has become the most challenging of tasks.... as well as working with the rain.....
she is still figuring out walking on her toes. i have no idea how, but she's doing it, even with casts. so i am not sure how productive this whole physical therapy is working.... she gets this set of casts off next Monday and they are going to see the progress and put the next set on.... we'll see what they decide. i am not sure if it is doing anything since she is running on her toes in casts. major talent. maybe we should send her to the circus. oh yeah. that's right, she is in one, its called our house!
eric is working on finishing his last year of his administrative credential. he is so amazing and such a hard worker! he has done so well in this program, i am so proud of him! i am excited to see where the next steps will take him, and us as a family.... hoping he gets an administrative job when he is done, of course we will be staying around here! god is doing lots here for us! :)
we are starting our small groups Wednesday night, and we are leading a group of about 20+ people, and are excited about this! God is working in our lives so much! its a blessing to be used by Him.
we have open house for the girls thursday, and eric's got open house for his school wednesday.... yeah, double booked that day, should be interesting, guess i am leading alone the 1st week, oh no. eek.
caelan began small groups at church which meets fridays nights.... oh yeah, reminds me, last week riley flipped out at church. major melt down. just kinda gotta go with whatever she brings our way..... she began crying hysterically at church not wanting to go in to her class..... this has NEVER happened. she usually hardly looks our way and walks right in, not even waving or saying goodbye.... so not sure whats going on with that, but hoping its not something new she's taking up on..... hoping next week it goes ok.... she ended up in service with us. yeah. that was fun. ugh.
life is full. its busy.
i hope to write more later, but duty calls. riley is hollering at me... time for lunch. and rest time. i think i will lay down and rest a bit too. i need it.
i have been coming down with a bit of a cold- scratchy throat.
bleh.

seasons turning. rain is here.
It is fall. And we can hardly wait till winter. Fall is a great time to get prepared for winter though, so it's essential! Almost time to cut roses back, burry our plants and prepare for snow. I absolutely love having seasons. It is so exciting!!!!!!! Yeah for fall! Time to get out my fall decor! ;)
