Before the molding....

Here is a picture of the bookshelf before the molding.... It looks so good on the newest bookshelf with the molding! It'll be awesome when they both have it and her room is finally done!!!!!!!

Organization.

Last year Eric made Riley a small bookshelf for her room to put books on and color books, notepads etc..... Well she quickly outgrew that bookshelf so we began placing books on her dresser but the book ends weren't holding the books so it then became a daily annoyance that the books would slide off onto the floor.... So I asked Eric to make another bookshelf, to match, so I could put it on the other side of her bed.... And he did it! He is always so helpful and generous of his time.... This was a huge deal for Riley to have this, and in turn blessed me! Eric also added a decorative edge on the bookshelf so he is going to go back and add it to the one he made last year, to finish it off and make it look fabulous! So excited to get one more thing checked off the lot of to do's. Now that I'm finished painting and priming this bookshelf, I can move on to other projects ;)

Night time devotions

This is what the setting for devotions look like in our house. (photo taken a few nights ago and Forgot to post it) Riley is always very anxious and can't sit still. Eric just keeps reading as she is climbing all over him. These three bring me such joy. Love them all. More than words could ever express....

Totally!

This weekend we were able to get some stuff done. The frame for Mandee and marks wedding was shipped and on its way to Newport beach.... Cleaned a little..... Eric and Caelan went snowboarding.... I worked on the computer and did a few things around the house. Feels so good to get stuff done. Today, I'm planning to get some more checked off the to do lists! Here's to hoping for energy to do it. I've been in so much pain. I see the OB/surgeon tomorrow. Hoping the appt goes well. Please be praying..... And as far as our house situation..... FHA lost our paperwork... So we re-submitted that. Hoping we buy a home soon!!!!

Ice rink

It's a skating rink on our street, in fact the bus was a half hour late due to black ice conditions. Scary out there! Gotta drive slow. Everybody be safe driving.

Ct scan

I had a CT scan scheduled for this morning.... They want a further look into all they saw on the ultrasound this last week. It's been hard. A lot to deal with. I'll post more when we know more.... For now, as far as the ultrasound, they found a mass on my ovary (I had a hysterectomy but they left the ovaries).... They also diagnosed me with bilateral hydronephrosis (water in the kidneys which is causing them to be enlarged.... A lot to figure out. Hard things right now... :(

Great harvest, great friends.

Our friends John and Lori have been so supportive and helpful, and loved on us in a way we've never been loved on. It's been a beautiful blessing. Yesterday after getting all the news we got, John brought over muffins from great harvest and a sweet card from he and Lori. These two are some of the most caring people in the world. Lori has reached out and been so helpful (she's a nurse, graduated from Azusa with her nursing degree).

Furthermore, Our whole small group, has been amazing. And Our neighbors! Michele and nick and Megan and Shawn..... They've all been fabulous and helpful, supportive and loving. Thankful for the people God has put in our life! So very thankful.

Frames!

More frame orders! This one we've been working on is for Mandee and mark for their wedding reception. I'm super excited about this project!!! It's gonna be so neat when it's all done.... I'm so very very sad I'm not going to the wedding. I was a bridesmaid and had my dress bought and everything.... And a few months ago we realized some financial troubles and I had to opt out of being in the wedding and going to Cabo..... Well, with my health now and caelans upcoming procedures now I are exactly why God planned this to be this way.... Doesn't make it easy but it makes sense.... I love you Mandee! I will pray for your special day and be a part of your day on the little things i can do, like making this frame. I'm so blessed by amazing friends who allow us to do such things for them!!!!!

Perfect reminders after a hard day

Friday: snow day

We all enjoyed a snow day Friday. Riley played in the snow with Roxie and Caelan ran errands with us. We had such a fun day it was awesome! Dogs even went to the groomer to get cleaned up and beautified ;)

Peaceful days.

The thing I love most about the snowy days is the peace it brings. It's so beautiful, that we stop and stare at the snow falling. It also makes for quiet streets, people stay home more during the winter so it's quiet outside.... There are no animals making noise although I miss the birds chirping, but just stillness outside. I love it. This is another great reason to love living here, a peaceful beauty that I embrace. I hold tight to moments like these. They are precious.

Snow! For days!

It's been snowing for days! And we can't keep up with the shoveling and the snowblowing! It's wild here! Beautiful as ever but wild! I left my ultrasound appt this morn and couldn't see the roads! There was no way to tell where the curbs were! I had to drive with the windows down cause it was snowing so hard I couldn't see through the windows. I was going to run some errands but opted to just get home.... Hoping for a snow day tomorrow, that would be lovely. So very lovely! Side note: my ultrasound took a long time. They checked everything and I got a call two hours later scheduling me for an appt to go over the results.... I'm assuming that means they found something they need to talk to me about.... Appt is Monday. We'll see what they say.... Maybe they didn't find anything and they wanna discuss other tests? Who knows, odd to have them say the doctor wants to sit down and talk about it all. Hummmmm.

Tons of snow!

Haven't gotten a snow day from school yet but I have a feeling tomorrow might be one! It hasn't stopped snowing for a few days now and the roads are piling high of snow! They can't seem to get them plowed! It's beautiful out! Makes for warm days inside and peaceful moments. Love these days.

Snow!!!!

There has been a lot of snow in the last 24 hours and we are supposed to be getting another foot of snow overnight tonight!!!!

Waiting rooms

Its snowing outside, like a downpour of snow! I'm sitting in the waiting room at my new doctors office.... As I sit here and watch the snow fall a thousand and five things race through my mind about this appointment.... When we moved here we joined the office of an amazing internal medicine doctor but he has since moved his practice to Washington and I got in touch with friends and was referred to this office by several people. I have so many mixed emotions being in a doctors office. My health has often beat me down hard and for years i have fraught against many health struggles.... Since moving here a lot of my health struggles were buried when i had my hysterectomy but today I sit here and every emotion has come over me today.... I have thought of that day when I had that surgery and how much grieving i have done and today I realize I still grieve over it. Anyway..... The reason I sit here today, is severe pain and I worry there is still more to figure out..... Maybe it's not over yet. Here's to hoping we figure this out. My medical records in hand, these docs have no idea what they've got coming. I need Dr. Gregory House. If there was only such a guy as he. Lol.

Another day, another story.

I haven't felt well at all, all weekend long.... I needed to run to target for one thing.... Eric has been gone since Friday night so I'm a space cadet at this point with little sleep and tryin to take care of myself while taking care of the kids..... So anyhow, we go to target, and like every shopping trip I remind the girls to STAY WITH ME and don't get lost.... Well I'm walking to the check out and turn around and Riley is gone.... I look at Caelan in a panic, she shrugs her shoulders like she always does and says "I dunno where she is!" I told Caelan to help me look.... We search all over and my heart is racing in a panic!!!!!! What seemed to me to be like Forever long really was just about 10 minutes or less and i hear over the loud speaker, "Megan will you please come to the front please, Megan please come to the front!" I walk quickly to the front of the store and find the manager with Riley. Riley is bright red with tears streaming down her face and she's gasping for breath she is so worked up! My heart was racing!!!! I gave her the biggest hug and assured her I'd never leave her! A few minutes later we discussed the importance of staying by me and not wandering off, she's always always always been a huge wanderer!!!! :(
We checked out of the store and walked to the car, Riley had this wristlet on her arm.... In my disfunction and sheer confusion i asked Riley, "is that ours?" she said, "well it is now, I went and got a wallet, that's how I lost you, I told you I needed a bigger wallet for my money and Chapstick." I then looked at Caelan and said, did you see if Riley had the lady scan the wallet?" Caelan said, "nope, she never gave it to the lady, she just totally stole it, without even paying!" I said, stealing is not paying and Caelan no need to be dramatic, we'll go back in and pay for it.
Riley started to cry again, harder than the first time.... She thought she had to take the purse back in. I said we just have to pay the lady. Ugh! What a weekend. When mommy is sick days are cloudy! What a mess! Needless to say, the guys are on their way back down from the mountain! They're gonna hang out here and watch football all night and then tomorrow we'll see what the plan will be. Never a dull moment around here! Cute little wristlet Riley picked out. Perfect for what she was looking for! ;)

Schwietzer weekend for the guys

Matt Lambert and Ryan Giffen flew up yesterday afternoon for a snowboarding trip! College friends reunion ;) hoping they have a great weekend while the girls and I hang out all weekend. I had a kidney stone Thursday night and still was in a great deal of pain yesterday.... Hoping things keep getting better with my health. It's been a hard few days, an I still don't have much of an appetite. Anyhow, we'll be posting lots of pictures from the guys' weekend ;) so exciting having them up here! It means a great deal to us ;)

Girl friends.

Caelan went to her friend Maggie's birthday party last Friday night. They all had a blast! The party was at Sky High sports place. (trampolines everywhere covering the walls etc) Caelan had a blast with all these girls from school!
